Overview of Library

Jnana Jyothi Degree College has a well-equipped library with journals, magazines, newspapers, and e-resources for staff and student activities at the institute. Apart from textbooks, the library houses a growing collection of reference books, such as journals, dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, etc. Also, the library facilitates access to a number of e-journals and e-books through NLIST and INFLIBNET.

Library functions are automated with advanced library software (Easy Lib Web OPAC 6.2). 40 seats are accommodated at a time for the benefit of users.

Library Timings

  • Monday to Friday : 9:00 A.M till 5.00 P.M
  • Saturday : 9.00 A.M to 3.30 P.M

Library Rules & Regulations

  • Users must check in with Identity card at the entry. ID card is a must for all library transactions.
  • Bags, handbags and personal belongings are to be kept at depository/property counter.
  • Students are prohibited to carry any book inside the reference section except loose sheets.
  • No person shall write on, damage or make any mark on any book, journal or other material belonging to the library.
  • Books should be handled with great care and mutilation of books in any manner will be heavily fined.
  • Students can retain the books for 10 days only, after which a fine of Rs.2/- Per book per day will be chargeable.
  • Renewals are allowed only when there is no claim by others. Phone renewal entertained.
  • A borrowed book if recalled by the Librarian has to be returned immediately.
  • Cell phone is strictly prohibited.
  • Online reservation can be done for a book, which is already lent out. Reserved books are kept separately in circulation counter.
  • Maintain Queue at the circulation counter and Users should fully co-operate with the library staff.
