The Internal Quality Assurance Cell at JNANA JYOTHI Degree College focuses on developing a system that ensures quality in the overall performance of the institution. It channels all the measures, initiatives, and efforts of the institution towards a well-integrated process of quality assurance. It also develops and implements quality parameters in line with the requirements of NAAC in both academic and administrative functions of the institution. It ensures continuous student development and progression, a student-centric learning environment, quality faculty, and self-improvement measures for faculty. IQAC also makes sure that the institution receives constant feedback from all stakeholders, which is analyzed and applied for quality enhancement. The cell is at the forefront of:

  • Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning
  • Build an organized methodology for documentation and internal communication

Objectives and Strategies of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established in the college for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality up-gradation of institutions of higher education. The main objective of the IQAC is to develop a system for awareness and steady and catalytic improvement in the overall progress of the institutions. The IQAC will make a significant and meaningful contribution to the academic development of the institution. The IQAC will channel all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its academic excellence.

The core values of the Department:

  • To ensure continuous improvement in the entire operations of the institution
  • To ensure stakeholders connected with education, namely parents, teachers, staff, employers, funding agencies, and society in general, of its quality and probity
  • To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent, and programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution
  • To promote measures for driving institutional functioning towards quality enhancement and institutionalization of best practices Functions
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks and parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution
  • Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related processes of the institution

IQAC has significantly contributed to institutionalizing quality assurance strategies and processes. The following two practices are the results of IQAC initiatives.

Study Hours

Jnana Jyothi Degree College, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, has started conducting study hours and remedial classes through which the students can improve their academics. Individual attention is given to the students to clarify doubts about difficult subjects. More importance is given to solving the problems of students, and emphasis is laid on advanced learning for students by arranging special lectures by subject experts.

Collaborative Learning

The institution implements the process of mutual learning to impart quality education to its students. It involves groups of students working together in the teaching and learning process. It is based on the idea that learning is a natural and social act in which the participants talk and discuss among themselves.
