Flagathon

Our institution organized national integrity programme “Flagathon”on 19th July 2018 in collaboration with “Amma Foundation Health and Grow”.Around 400 students and our faculties were participated in this programme. The main objective of the programme was to cultivate patriotism among young generation.

Swacchatha Andholan

NSS group of our institution organized swacchatha Andholan programme in Yelahanka Amani Lake bund on 14 July 2019 by involving our students and faculties to create an awareness about our environment and to keep it clean and healthy.

Nashamukth Bharath Abhiyaan

Our institution conducted a programme “Nashamuktha Bharath Abhiyaan” on 12th Jan 2017. A procession was organized from our institution to Yelehanka old town by our students and faculties to create awareness among youths about drug addiction and to make India free of drugs.This programme was headed by a famous Kannada actress Thara Anuradha.She spoke about role of youths in developing our country and in eliminating usage of drugs.

Swacchatha Programme

Our institution organized Swacchatha Programme on 2nd October 2017 in spite of Gandhi Jayanthi in Yelahanka streets.

This programme was organized to promote the values of Gandhiji among the students.

National Awareness is fostered through talks and seminars related to the building up the nation and national days are observed. Extension activities and outreach programs are focused on the integral formation of the students.

Problems Encountered and Resources Required

Colleges may focus more on theoretical knowledge and less on practical applications, which can limit the exposure of youth to real-world challenges and opportunities for applying their learning in meaningful ways. Colleges may not have sufficient opportunities for youth to engage in civic and community activities that can foster their sense of social responsibility and active citizenship. This can limit their exposure to social issues, community development initiatives, and opportunities for civic participation, which are essential for their holistic development and contribution to the nation.

Lack of youth participation in decision-making processes: Colleges may face challenges in promoting meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes at the institutional and policy levels. This can result in limited representation of youth voices and perspectives in shaping college policies, practices, and initiatives, which can hinder their ability to effectively contribute to the nation's development.

Academic Activities:

Another important aspect of the institute's institutional distinctiveness is its support for sports and cultural activities. The institute recognizes that students need platforms to develop their physical, social and cultural skills, along with their academic abilities. Institute provides a range of sports facilities and opportunities for students to participate in various cultural events and activities, such as music and dance performances, debate competitions and art exhibitions. The institute also recognizes the importance of social skills. To this end, the institute has implemented various extension activities that aim to inculcate social skills in students. These activities include community service projects, volunteer work, internships, and social awareness campaigns. Through these activities, students learn the value of giving back to society, develop empathy and compassion for others, and gain a deeper understanding of the social issues facing their community. They also develop communication, teamwork, and leadership skills that are essential for success in any field. The extension activities at the institute are carefully designed to provide students with meaningful experiences that allow them to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations. By promoting social skills development, the institute is preparing its students to become responsible citizens who will make a positive impact in their communities and the world at large. The social skills are nurtured through various activities conducted by the social and students clubs in the institute.

Non Academic Activities:

Exposure to social issues and working on probable solutions: The students are exposed to the diverse social structure and their issues, particularly in the neighboring areas, through the National Service Scheme implemented at the Institute. The students undertake activities of spreading social awareness about various burning topics such as women health, Swatch Bharat, tree plantation etc. While doing so, students become aware of the societal issues and think of possible solutions of it.

The students take part in helping the neglected part of the society like orphans and old age people. Students help the children at the orphanages by conducting classes for the kids. At the old-age homes, students extend their help.

Physical development:

The institute promotes physical activities among the students to cultivate many important skills such as physical fitness, team spirit, confidence, decision making, mental strength, etc. of the students. Each year, the institute organizes annual sports events comprising of various sports. In these sports boys and girls participate and show their skills – their sportsman spirit and team-building abilities. During the camps held at various village adopted by the institute through NSS, various physical activities like Yoga exercises, outdoor sports etc are conducted.
